"I always longed for a creative hobby, and that dream came true when my husband gifted me my first calligraphy kit. The kit had everything I needed to get started: ink, nibs, and paper. From the first stroke, I knew I'd found my passion. This wasn't just a hobby; it was the start of Amara. My husband's gift helped me discover my love for calligraphy and inspired me to start a business."
Amara initially began as ‘Perfect Pen Designs’, an Etsy store.
While planning for her own British-Hindu wedding in 2022, Sithee was left feeling underwhelmed and uninspired by the lack of options for a modern multi-cultural wedding when tasked with selecting her own wedding stationery.
Fuelled by her artistic spirit, Sithee used her calligraphy skills and designed all her wedding stationery from scratch, adding a touch of personalisation to her special day and celebrating her and her partner’s cultural roots and their unique love story at the same time.
Sithee was inspired by her own story to create a wedding stationery company that catered to couples who, like her, desired invitations that seamlessly blended modern trends with the timeless elegance of traditional wedding stationery; and thus, Amara was born.
Through Amara, Sithee aims to provide personalised designs that reflect the couple’s unique vision for their special day.
